Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at 386-597-2987 if you cannot find an answer to your question.

  • The biggest difference between quartz and quartzite is that quartz is a man-made material (made from natural ground quartz and silica) while quartzite is a natural stone. Quartz very commonly comes in styles with a white background and some sort of veining while quartzite comes in many different colors and patterns.
  • Granite, like quartzite, is also a natural stone. Both are very hard material and therefore durable, however, they do have to be sealed every year or two unlike man-made quartz. Granite is typically less expensive than quartzite and quartz and usually the busiest of the three options.

Can't find what you love in our inventory? Not a problem! We work with multiple suppliers in the Orlando and Jacksonville region whose warehouses you can visit to select something you love. Information for these suppliers is provided on request.

This depends on the type of stone that you have selected. Natural stone (i.e. granite, quartzite, dolomite, marble, etc.) has to be sealed every couple of years, with marble tops needing to be sealed ideally every few months due to the material's high porosity; sealing prevents stone from becoming porous. Sealing is also dependent on your usage of the countertops. Quartz, on the other hand, does not need to be sealed, however, you cannot put anything hot on this material as it can lead to scorch marks and discoloration! For all countertops, make sure to clean them off regularly using water and a non-chemical liquid detergent; do NOT use harsh products!
